FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What factors affect the transmission range of my FM transmitter?
The actual range depends on several key factors:

  • Your Equipment: The power of your transmitter and the sensitivity of the receivers (radios).

  • Your Antenna Setup: The quality, type, and height of your antenna, as well as the coaxial cable used.

  • Your Environment: Physical obstacles like buildings, hills, and dense trees can significantly reduce the range.

How can I get the best possible range?
For optimal performance:

  • Use a high-quality, properly tuned antenna placed as high as possible.

  • Use low-loss coaxial cable to connect your transmitter to the antenna.

  • Operate in an open area with few obstructions.

What do the modulation settings mean for audio quality?
Modulation controls the loudness and clarity of your broadcast. Our transmitters are pre-calibrated to the ideal setting.

  • Too Low: Audio will sound quiet and muffled.

  • Too High: Audio will become distorted.

  • Just Right (Our Setting): We factory-set it for clear, crisp, and distortion-free sound.

What is pre-emphasis, and which setting should I use?
Pre-emphasis balances audio tones for FM radio. Most regions use 50µs, which is our standard setting. Some areas require 75µs, available on select models. Please check your local regulations or contact us if you are unsure.

I hear a humming sound in my broadcast. How do I fix it?
A constant hum is usually a power supply issue. We recommend using our certified power adapters or a high-quality, stable external power supply to ensure clean audio.
